Sorry, but that was just too awesome not to post here. More philosophy and more journal survey updates are coming soon.

    So awesome.

Next I want to see: “Simon, what does the Universal Quantifier look like…” Followed by Simon making a ‘V’ with his arms in the air.

  2. Andrew Cullison

yeah, I think I might have to start work on that tomorrow

  3. Sam

Jack said “Al-eccckks” yesterday, which we’re thinking about counting as his first word.

  4. Sam

Also, secondary question: Is that a noise that Simon happens to make? Or were you actually able to get him from ignorance to Chewyese through your own teaching skillz?

  5. Andrew Cullison

He was walking around screaming and stumbled on the Wookie noise. I got really excited and told him that’s what a Wookie says. He kept doing it over and over…each time I’d tell him that’s what a Wookie says. Now he answers with the noise when you ask him what a Wookie says.

  6. Sam

That is fantastic. That is what parenting is really all about. We were making what we though were Dracula noises to Jack one day (open your mouth wide and exhale) and he was blinking at us, and then suddenly did a very quiet response. Now he makes the Dracula sound.

Parenting rules. Sometimes the kids don’t, but doing this sort of thing is great.

Wookie sounds! I love it! Marty and I are blessed with having our granddaughter at our home frequently and she constantly amazes us. She loves to sing and cracks us up, mainly because Grandma Me taught her to emphasize the last word, like the last word of “Twinkle Twinkle: like a diamond in the SKY! (shouted) and “Away in the Manger” asleep in the HAY!
She sings this over and over, entertaining Walmart shoppers..
