  1. CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO PUT PHILOSOPHY JOURNALS IN GOOGLE READER? I HAVE GOOGLE READER BUT I DIDN’T KNOW SUCH A THING WAS POSSIBLE? DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION TO THE JOURNAL?

  2. HI James,

Almost all of the major journals have RSS feeds. The feeds are limited, they’ll only show at most the titles and the abstracts. You don’t need a subscription to a journal to get that far, but if you want to read the journal articles you’ll have to have a subscription (or access them via a University library with a subscription).

To add a journal to google reader simply go to the journal website that you’re interested in tracking (e.g. Mind - http://mind.oxfordjournals.org/)

Go to the link that says “View Current Issue” - you’ll notice that the little orange RSS button pops up in Firefox letting you know that there is a feed you can subscribe to. Click that button and if you’re logged into Google Reader, it will take you back to Google Reader and you’ve subscribed to get updated about new issues.

    I hope that’s helpful.
